People's Square is located in the city center. Significant entertainment events take place here, and government offices and cultural centers are concentrated around. One of them is the Shanghai Museum. Its purpose is to preserve the ancient Chinese culture and convey its principles to the people. The exposition is distributed in 11 galleries and 3 exhibition halls. The building is square with a round dome. It symbolizes the earth and sky.

This is a great museum to visit if you are touring Shanghai for a few days. It is free to all And located in the beautiful People’s Park. Not a world class museum but it does showcase a nice cross-section of China’s history. I would recommend going.. Read more »

As a museum guide from Taiwan, I would like to share that regular exhibitions in the National palace museum Taiwan are better than SH museum. But I would like to say that the special and seasonal exhibitions in SH museum are better. I will recommend.. Read more »
