Schleissheim palace

Munich, Germany
4.8 / 5
The palace was founded by Duke William V at the end of the 16th century. Then it was a small mansion, which the ruler used for privacy. His son Maximilian I rebuilt the estate to his liking and made a palace out of it. The Schleissheim complex includes three palaces built at different times, and a vast park area. The interior was painted by Johann Gump, Giovanni Trubillio and Francesco Rosa.

The garden is a peaceful and nice place for taking a walk on sunny days if you live nearby. Remember to pay attention to the opening hours at the garden's entrance which differs in different seasons.

One advantage is being able to choose between beer garden with self-service and serviced seating (also outside), and good food.

Gorgeous palace! There was almost no one there and we visited in the summer! I highly recommend it!

It was lovely to walk around . Cozy atmosphere

It's such a nice place to take a walk. Great flowers and with a nice castle.

If you are near by, it worth the visit, the palace have nice gardens and is a perfect place to relax and walk. Also have some exhibitions inside but never have been there.

Nice small palace with gardens and a small forest around. There are also several bike trails leading to the nearby towns.

A nice place for a walk, especially in summer.

We love to take our dog for a walk here. The grounds are huge, they're beautiful. There's no need to rush, just take your time, enjoy the fresh air. Check it out for yourself.
