Hotel NegrescoNice, France
4.5 / 8
A neoclassical luxury hotel located on Promenade des Anglais. It is a symbol of the entire Cote d'Azur. The hotel opened in 1913, Coco Chanel, M. Dietrich, E. Hemingway were noted among its famous guests. To decorate the interior of Louis XIV (one of the hotel rooms), the original ceiling of a medieval castle was used. The design of the luxury apartments of the hotel is unique, each room has an individual name and interior. Address: | 37 Promenade des Anglais, Nice | Phone: | +33 4 93 16 64 00 |

I want to write about the Negresco Hotel, but can’t seem to pull it up. (La Rotonde is the restaurant that is in the Negresco Hotel). This is a class.. Read more »ic, elegant hotel. My great grandmother stayed there on one of her cruises. There was a sticker of the Negresco Hotel on her steamer trunk.
On one of my tours of Europe, I met Lucien Nocentini, a former concierge of the Negresco Hotel. Prior to that, he was a professional soccer player for team Monaco. When I knew him, he was the concierge of the Hotel Albion in Nice. He told me that he could set me up for a very good price. I took him up on that and the following summer I spent a month on the Riviera for $11 a night!! Can’t beat that!!! The hotel was only 6 blocks from the beach. I had a fabulous time and enjoyed conversing in French daily. I want to come back soon. (When this Covid mess is over). I love France ?? and am proud of my French heritage. Viva la France❣️ |

Very charming place that , to my point of view, requires some room renovation. Service and food are impeccable! |

While the servers were nice, thry constantly seemed to forget us. We (a group of 4 and a child) had the kids menu, the plage menu, 2 entrees and 3 mains. We were seated and had to wait about 10 min before we got a menu (the venue was not full, about 15% occupied), had to ask twice before the ordered water arrived (waiting time 30 min). Same for the drink in the kids menu, we had to ask for a drink even though it is included in the menu. Our bottle of wine was served correctly but we never got offered a refill. When finished by ordering two espresso and an Americano, only one espresso got served and we had to reorder the second one again. For a presumably higher end service this was quite disappointing. Can check Necressco of my list, but wouldn't return. |
