Cathedral of Barcelona

The main Catholic temple of the city, located in the Gothic Quarter. The cathedral was built on the site of a Roman basilica of the VI century, where the relics of the holy martyr Eulalia, the patroness of Barcelona, were stored. After the Moors destroyed the basilica, in the XI century the cathedral was rebuilt in the early Romanesque style, a Gothic building appeared in the XIII century. In subsequent centuries, the temple was completed, the main facade appeared in the XIX century.
