The Camp Nou was built between 1955 and 1957 and was designed by architects Francesc Mittance Miro and Josep Soteras Mauri. Initially, the object was called FC Barcelona Stadium, and its current name was established in 2001. The first renovation of Camp Nou Stadium was in 1981, it was expanded to 120,000 spectators in connection with the FIFA World Cup.
