Berlin State Opera

Berlin, Germany
4.8 / 5
The very first opera house was built in the middle of the 18th century. During the Second World War, it was destroyed twice - during the bombing of 1941 and 1945. Restoration work was carried out until 1955. The updated opera scene opened with the production of “Nuremberg Mastersingers” - the immortal work of German musical genius Richard Wagner.

Went to a ballet performance. Old school sumptuous set, very beautiful. The building itself also gorgeous.

Second visit post renovation, and still has that "brand new" feel about the place. And the higher ceiling is both visually impressive and an acoustic improvement.

Spectacular orchestre. One of the best sound ever, incredible. JUST GO.

Apart from the truly sensational (perfect) orchestra, it is also the most wonderful drinks salon ever!! The ballet Bayadere was a technical night to remember for always. Bravissimo.

wonderful experience. order canapes and wine before the play starts to have them ready served at half-time
