Bazylika sw. Jana Chrzciciela

Warsaw, Poland
4.9 / 7
The Polish name for the church is St. John's Church. This is the oldest Catholic church in the capital, which was built in the XII-XIV centuries. Here, over the centuries, important events took place: coronations, the conclusion of peace treaties, the magnificent funeral of royal persons. The church played the role of the spiritual center of the Polish state. The modern temple building was built since the historic building was demolished during the German occupation.
